What I Eat in a Day 3
Some of my favourite blog posts to read are focused around what others eat strangely enough! I won't lie the past few weeks my eating has been all over the place and while I want to sit here and say I feel great it's all fine... It's hard when I feel sluggish. I'm a person who loves routine, I love to know i'm fuelling my body with nutritious wholesome food. However, I'm also human and love having a wine with friends and with wine often comes cheese, crackers and many other 'sometimes' foods! So basically, my eating habits haven't been what I'd like people to follow but I'm sharing this because I want to attract clients who align with these values of balance.
This week I've began focusing on incorporating three main meals back into my day because that's when I feel best. It's when I spend the whole day snacking I feel terrible and my energy/mood is all over the place.
Today I woke up at 6.45am and went for a walk/run. If you ask Kat and Zara they'll laugh at my attempts but I think my 800m sporadic runs are fantastic! I began the morning super calm and chilled and thought I had all the time in the world. Turns out I didn't and I was rushed out the door. Lucky I had my lunch made from the night before so i quickly prepped some porridge and ate breakfast when I arrived at work.
10am - Breakfast
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tsp. chia seeds
- handful frozen berries
- 1 tsp. cacao powder
- 1 tsp. maca powder
- cinnamon & nutmeg
- sprinkle of chopped walnuts
At the moment I really do love my morning long black and Bonsoy! With coffee, I try to ensure that i've eaten before drinking so it's not going into an empty stomach.
12:45pm - Lunch
I had leftover stir-fry for lunch today and I bloody love leftovers! It was super simple chicken, brown rice and a variety of veggies that I had in the fridge. Sometimes the best kind of dishes are those that are thrown together with all the stragglers.
3pm - Afternoon Snack
- 1 apple
- Fredo chocolate because that 3pm slump hit and it was offered to me
It's funny with afternoons, I definitely notice I begin to eat out of boredom. You're not alone if you also struggle with this, I find it's common amongst a lot of women. What helps me avoid overeating and binging is making sure i've had a substantial lunch such as a stir-fry that meets all 3 macronutrient requirements.
I made the red lentil Dahl from my upcoming eBook for dinner and weekly lunches. It's super delicious and filling. I still eat plant based for the majority of my meals as I love vegetables and this lentil Dahl is super easy to make whilst hiding a variety of vegetables. It's something you can feed the children and your partner without them even knowing how healthy they're being.
When we moved in recently Dec brought me 2 tubs of an almond milk chocolate, salted caramel and double choc!!! Let's just say It'd be rude not too eat that tonight! We're all human, give yourself a break and enjoy that treat!
